After realising a Professional Baccalaureate specialised in Visual and Multimedia communication in the design field, Nicolas has decided to enter an English LLCER Bachelor’s degree in the University of Clermont-Ferrand. Failing to flourish in this, he discovered WorldTop ESN during the first quarantine, following one of his professer’s recommendation. Thanks to the « Erasmus Student Network » Discord’s platform, he decided to take part of the events organised, which allowed him to enter the association.

At the end of the first quarantine, Nicolas realised how much he was interested by ESN, he offered himself as a volunteer. He heard about a free Civic Service place at WorldTop ESN, which he got.

The Civic Service inside of WorldTop ESN allowed Nicolas to improve his skills in various fields: graphic skills thanks to the creation of visuals, group management and sense of responsibility skills, helping and information skills for an international community, event’ brainstorming skills, canvassing and communication skills…

This experience also allowed Nicolas to meet a lot a new people, and also to discover new cultures thanks to international students. Finally, il had the opportunity to share emotional moments during the events organised by WorldTop ESN, especially during the « Walk at the Lake Chambon » event, symbol of the end of the second quarantine, which stays his best memory. « The weather was very bad, but we were so happy to meet again that we didn’t pay attention to the weather », he explains.

Nicolas already regrets the idea of not being as present as he were able to for the international students, but also the responsibilities he had during his Civic Service. « I really enjoyed the sense of responsibilities I had », he tells us.
